Overview
Le Grand Contrôle stands within the grounds of the Château de Versailles, close to the Hall of Mirrors and the Orangery. The hotel has fifteen rooms and suites, each dressed in fabrics from Maison Pierre Frey and furnished with period antiques. Rooms look out over the Château's gardens, and every stay includes a personal butler.
Dining is built around two kitchens. La Table des Jardiniers, led by Chef Duchiron, serves dinner from 7.30pm in a room open to the gardens, with dishes drawn from French regional cooking and built for sharing. Alain Ducasse designs a separate candlelit dinner service and the snacks served at Bar de la Chapelle, which opens daily from midday to 10pm in the Salon d'Audience and on its terrace facing the Orangery Gardens. Afternoon tea, arranged by Aymeric Pinard, and a Sunday brunch are also served.
The Airelles Spa, run with LBA, is built around a 15-metre pool with a sauna and steam room finished in Carrara marble, a Technogym fitness room and yoga classes. It is open daily from 10am to 8pm, with the pool accessible from 7am to 10pm. Guests can arrange private visits to the Château after public closing hours, entry to the Royal Library to see correspondence between George Washington and Marie-Antoinette, horseback riding on the estate, falconry in the Forest of Rambouillet, and picnics in the gardens organised by a butler. Children are looked after through the Royal Camp, run with Minois. The Pavillon des Jardiniers, with its own suites and private chef, can be reserved in full for a private stay.
