Hôtel Plaza Athénée occupies 25 avenue Montaigne in Paris, opened in 1913, with views toward the Eiffel Tower and five restaurants including a Michelin-starred dining room.
Overview
Hôtel Plaza Athénée stands on avenue Montaigne in the 8th arrondissement, with the Eiffel Tower at one end of the street and the Champs-Élysées at the other. The hotel opened on 20 April 1913, designed by Charles Lefebvre, a few weeks before its neighbour, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, opened nearby. Christian Dior opened his first boutique on the same avenue in 1946 and held fashion shows and photoshoots at the hotel, a link that helped establish avenue Montaigne as Paris's avenue of fashion.
Rooms range from the 25 square metre Classic Single Room to the 130 square metre Signature Eiffel Suite, with several categories overlooking avenue Montaigne or the Eiffel Tower. Le Relais Plaza, the hotel's Art Deco restaurant, opened in 1936 with a design modelled on the dining hall of the ocean liner SS Normandie. The hotel's other dining rooms include La Grande Table du Plaza Athénée, a Michelin-starred restaurant built around a Royal Table of antique Breccia pink marble, along with La Galerie, La Cour Jardin, La Terrasse Montaigne and Le Bar.
The Dior Spa includes a gym and a range of treatments developed with Dior, including facials and massages. The hotel is a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, the Seine and the Champs-Élysées, and around 20 minutes from Gare du Nord. Up to two small dogs under 7kg are welcome per room, and parking is available in front of the hotel or in an underground facility.
