Overview

Aman-i-Khas sits on the threshold of Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan, India, home to the Bengal tiger. The camp comprises fourteen Mughal-inspired tents, described as expansive, spread across a ruggedly beautiful landscape on the park's outskirts. Twice-daily safaris, led by wildlife guides, head into the reserve in search of tigers and other wildlife.

Back at camp, days are built around a smaller set of rituals: spa treatments that draw on Ayurveda, India's 5,000-year-old system of preventative medicine, a swimming pool, and dining centred on Indian cuisine. The property opened in 2003, one of two Aman properties in Rajasthan alongside Amanbagh.

Reaching the camp takes some planning. From Delhi, guests travel four to six hours by train to Sawai Madhopur, with Aman butler service en route, followed by a twenty-minute drive. Alternatively, a one-hour flight connects Delhi to Jaipur, followed by a three-hour drive. Jaipur International Airport is itself a three-hour drive from the camp; Delhi's airport is roughly four and a half hours away.
