Overview
Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru occupies its own island in Baa Atoll, within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The resort's villas and bungalows were designed by Sri Lankan architect Murad Ismail, who worked with traditional Maldivian building methods and Sri Lankan forms: high-thatched roofs pitched at 45 degrees, coral walls and gardens planted with tropical foliage. Water Villas stand on stilts over the lagoon, with floor-to-ceiling windows, sundecks, outdoor showers and nets for lounging above the water. Blu Beach runs for a kilometre of white sand and a sand spit, with a sea wall installed to keep the lagoon calm for swimming year-round.
Dining spans eight venues. Blu Beach Club serves Italian food developed by Chef Nino Di Costanzo, including Neapolitan pizza and gelato, alongside sunset views over Blu Beach. Al Barakat, an overwater restaurant, serves Eastern Mediterranean dishes developed with Beiruti chef Aline Kamakian of the restaurant Mayrig. Café Landaa offers Asian and regional dishes from a tandoor and curry kitchen across three thatched pavilions, plus a teppanyaki counter set in a water garden. Fuego Grill serves grilled meat and seafood beachfront, and Seabar, an overwater deck, serves tapas-style plates above resident lemon sharks and reef fish. Wellness is centred on AyurMa, built around four areas: Ayurveda, Yoga Therapy, Wellness and Planetary Wellbeing, staffed by a team of Ayurvedic doctors, naturopaths and yoga therapists. Guests can take a PraMā wellness screening, a five-stage, 120-minute assessment covering biomarker diagnostics, pulse readings and iris diagnosis. Diving is run through a PADI Five-Star Career Development Centre, exploring the reefs and thilas of the Baa Atoll, with the Marine Discovery Centre offering guests the chance to join marine biologists on coral reef building projects and manta ray research documented by the Manta Trust.
Landaa Giraavaru is reached by seaplane from Malé International Airport, a flight of 35 to 40 minutes operated by the resort's own Flying Boxfish and Flying Triggerfish aircraft or by Trans Maldivian Airways. Seaplanes fly only during daylight hours, and guests on late-night departures or arrivals can be accommodated at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa for a night before or after their transfer. Children under 12 stay in their parents' room without an additional charge, space permitting.
