Overview
Muravandhoo Island sits in Raa Atoll, in the northern Maldives, reached by a 45-minute seaplane flight from Malé. The atoll's reef system supports corals, turtles and manta rays, and the resort has planted more than 10,000 coral fragments over the past two years as part of a coral restoration programme on its own House Reef.
The resort holds 73 villas and residences, spread across beach and over-water settings, each with a private pool and a Jadugar, the local term for a personal butler. Categories range from a one-bedroom water villa with 100 sqm of interior space to a four-bedroom beach residence with 500 sqm of interior space and its own buggy and driver. Two of the residences include a nanny room. Art installations, part of the resort's Artscape collection, appear across the island as an ongoing dialogue between international art forms and the natural setting.
Dining runs across five restaurants: Vandhoo for Southeast Asian, Chinese and Indian cuisine, Bellinis for Italian food, the over-water Saoke for Japanese cuisine designed by architect Noriyoshi Muramatsu, TUH'U for Levant cuisine served on the sand, and Mura Bar for pool-side food with a whisky and cigar lounge. The JOALI BEING Cure Wellness Centre applies the Mind, Skin, Microbiome and Energy approach developed at the group's sister property, JOALI BEING, with visiting practitioners and a healing garden of spa ingredients. The resort holds One MICHELIN Key under the Michelin Guide 2025 and has held a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating for five consecutive years.
