A family-run hotel at the top of the Spanish Steps, with 82 rooms and suites and a Michelin-starred restaurant on the sixth floor.
Overview
Hotel Hassler Roma stands at the top of the Spanish Steps, the 135-step stairway made famous by Roman Holiday, at Piazza Trinità dei Monti 6. The hotel has been run by the Wirth family for over a century and is currently overseen by Roberto and Veruschka Wirth. Piazza di Spagna and Via dei Condotti lie at the foot of the steps, and Villa Borghese Gardens is a few minutes away. Fiumicino Airport is 30 to 45 minutes by car, and Termini train station is 15 minutes by car.
The hotel has 82 rooms and suites, ranging from Deluxe Rooms to the 330 square metre Hassler Penthouse on the eighth floor, which has two Travertine marble terraces, a grand piano and butler service. Suites include the Villa Medici Penthouse with its 150 square metre private terrace, the Presidential Suites San Pietro and Trinità dei Monti, and the Grand Deluxe, Executive, Classic and Junior categories. Rooms at Il Palazzetto, three of which overlook the Spanish Steps directly, sit in a separate building above the steps. Dining runs from the Michelin-starred Imàgo on the sixth floor, led by Executive Chef Andrea Antonini, to the all-day Salone Eva and its summer garden extension, Palm Court, under Executive Chef Marcello Romano. Carmen's Bar, named after Carmen Wirth, and the seventh-floor terrace complete the food and drink offer, along with the Il Palazzetto Wine Bar above the Spanish Steps.
Wellness facilities currently include a gym, a sauna and personalised massage treatments; an 800 square metre spa is due to open in 2026. The hotel is close to the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and the Vatican Museums and St Peter's Basilica.
