Hotel · Jaipur, India
A restored 1849 fort in the Aravalli hills outside Jaipur, let as a single four-bedroom residence for one group at a time.
Naila Fort stands above Jaipur's open countryside in the Aravalli Mountain Range, 25 kilometres from the city centre. Built in 1849 by the Champawat clan, it has been restored and reimagined as a four-bedroom residence. Sunlit courtyards, carved archways, elegant salons and gardens connect the property's original architecture to its current use as a private stay. Antique furnishings and period artworks sit alongside contemporary comforts throughout.
Each of the four bedrooms has its own character. The Master Bedroom has high ceilings, arched windows and patterned marble floors, with a living room, dining space and ensuite bathroom. The Garden Facing Room opens onto garden views through glass-panelled doors and has an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub. The East and West Turret Rooms occupy the fort's circular turrets, each with a domed ceiling, arched windows and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Dining is arranged around four settings: Surya Mahal, a hall with a long table and bar; Sheesh Mahal, with a mirrorwork domed ceiling and circular table; The Poolside, under a handwoven canopy; and The Surya Mahal Lawn, set among palms and roses. Daily menus are created by Oberoi chefs in consultation with guests, drawing on royal Rajasthani and Mughal traditions alongside international dishes.
The residence is reserved only in its entirety, for one group at a time, and welcomes guests aged 14 and above. A temperature-controlled pool is available for guests' exclusive use with butler service for drinks and snacks, a fitness centre with cityscape views is open 24 hours, and guided yoga and meditation sessions are available on request. Jaipur Airport is 15 kilometres away, roughly a 30 minute drive, while Agra and Delhi are reachable by road as part of the Golden Triangle route.
