Hotel · Ravello, Italy
A restored 12th-century noble residence in Ravello, forty-three rooms and suites set 350 metres above the Gulf of Salerno.
Overview
Palazzo Avino occupies Palazzo Sasso, a noble residence in Ravello's historic quarter that dates to the 12th century. The Sasso family settled the building in 1710, and a chapel added in 1756 now serves as the hotel's lobby. After years of decline the property was fully restored and reopened as a hotel in 1997, taking its current name in 2013 in honour of its founding family. The hotel sits 350 metres above the sea, with views over the Gulf on one side and the mountains on the other.
The hotel has forty-three rooms, including ten suites, furnished with antiques and detail work that reflects the building's history. Suites such as the Belvedere and Infinito include private terraces with hydro-pools, while rooms on the mountain side look onto Ravello's pedestrian streets. Dining runs from the Michelin-starred Rossellinis, which also offers a four-seat Chef's Table and a Sommelier's Table set in a wine cellar, to the more relaxed Terrazza Maraviglia and its Lobster & Martini Bar, which opens at six each evening. A spa sits beside the garden swimming pool, and a rooftop solarium has its own infinity hydro-pool.
Fifteen minutes from Ravello, the hotel's Clubhouse by the Sea in Marmorata gives guests access to beach platforms, a small pool and a casual restaurant, reachable by a complimentary shuttle from half past nine each morning. Both the clubhouse and the main hotel operate seasonally: Palazzo Avino is due to reopen on 3 April 2026.
