Overview
The Ritz-Carlton Sanya, Yalong Bay sits on the southern tip of Hainan Island, facing a stretch of the South China Sea in the Yalong Bay National Resort District. The resort holds 446 guestrooms, each over 65 square metres, together with 19 suites and 33 private villas that each have an individual plunge pool. Rooms range from Deluxe and Ocean View categories through to Premier Ocean View, Club level accommodation and multi-bedroom family suites, with views over the ocean, resort gardens or the hotel's lagoon pools.
Seven restaurants and bars cover a spread of cuisines: Pearl serves Cantonese, Hainan and Sichuan dishes, Sofia serves Italian lunch and dinner, Sand sits at the beachside for grills and seafood, and Fresh 8 runs an interactive buffet across eight show kitchens. Scene, the lobby lounge, serves Asian-inspired cocktails and afternoon tea with ocean views, Cube is the poolside bar and Scoop is an ice cream parlour. The spa occupies three levels with 10 treatment rooms and two VIP suites, using ingredients such as coconut milk, bamboo and Himalayan salt alongside Valmont products. A separate fitness studio runs on Technogym equipment and is open around the clock. The hotel has an oceanfront wedding chapel at the beachside, and Yalong Bay Golf Club and Sun Valley Golf Club sit five and ten minutes away.
Families are looked after by the Ritz Kids club, which includes an outdoor playground, a kids' pool with waterslide and a vegetable garden known as Uncle Martin's Secret Garden. The resort also holds more than 1,700 square metres of meeting and banquet space, including a ballroom of 9,750 square feet that can seat up to 850 guests, making it a venue for both weddings and conferences on the same stretch of coast.
