Overview

The Sanya EDITION sits on a 50-acre property on Hainan Island, off the coast of southern China. The site is organised around what the hotel calls the Private Ocean, a man-made saltwater expanse, alongside two separate swimming pools. The main hotel building is horseshoe-shaped, and all 501 guest rooms have ocean views. Interiors use light oak finishes, airy fabrics and limestone floors imported from Indonesia, with bathtubs placed in the main room rather than a separate bathroom. Twelve villas occupy a terraced hillside above the resort, each with its own ocean view, private pool and pavilion space.

Dining runs across several distinct venues rather than one central restaurant. Market at EDITION is an all-day space referencing Sanya's history as a trading port, with food stations covering a raw bar, noodle and dumpling counter, bakery, open-fire grill, wok station, dim sum and a juice bar. Xianhai by the Sea serves Cantonese seafood reached by a short evening boat ride across the Private Ocean, and guests can also book a private table on an illuminated floating platform in the middle of the water. The Jade Egret offers modern European food at ocean level, Beach Barbacoa takes its cues from Bali's Jimbaran Bay for outdoor dining on sand, and BOHN serves Hainanese dishes including a traditional fermented vinegar soup. The Beach Club and the adults-only Sky Bar, set at the highest point of the hotel, cover daytime lounging and evening cocktails respectively.

The Spa at The Sanya EDITION spans more than 2,000 square metres across two levels, with extensive gardens. There is a 24-hour gym and a dedicated Racket Sports Venue. Room categories range from Garden View and Ocean View options through to loft suites, a Family Suite, Playland Suite categories and the hillside villas. The property is close to luxury designer outlets, and airport transfers are available by hotel limousine from Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Sanya Railway Station or Haikou Meilan International Airport.
