Our notes
Barcelona compresses a great deal into a walkable city: modernist architecture, a working beach, one of the best food scenes in Europe and the Costa Brava an hour north. We favour hotels on Passeig de Gràcia for the location and the rooftops, and townhouse hotels in the Eixample for a quieter night. Timed entry to the Sagrada Família and Park Güell is essential; we arrange it. Pair the city with two or three nights on the Costa Brava or in the Priorat wine country and you have a proper week.
