Our notes
Tokyo is a city of neighbourhoods, and the hotel decides which one becomes yours. The towers of Marunouchi and Roppongi give the skyline; Aoyama and Shibuya give the streets. We arrange counters at sushi and tempura restaurants that do not take foreign reservations directly, a guide for Tsukiji's outer market at dawn, and the day trips to Kamakura and Nikko. Cherry blossom in late March and the autumn colours in November are the peaks; the city is good in every month and the summer humidity is the only caution.
